Over 90% of teens use any kind of social media, not just to
interact with their friends but also to learn or to gain information that they
think is important. And with these teens, there are over 88% have health
insurances. But they know so little about their health care, health benefit and
how it works. A two-year project, funded by a $1.1 million grant from the
Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development
of the National Institutes of Health want to help teens to understand how
health care works and help them to gain knowledge about it. They believe a web-based
social media platform can help teens to understand how health care works and encourage
them to use it.
